The powerful manner in which the simple word “all” is used in the Bible is amazing. It leaves nothing or nobody out of its purview. One example is this Biblical definition of love: “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:7)
Jesus had said, “Do not worry about what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, or what you shall wear, for your heavenly father knows that you have need of all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:31-33) God’s provision for his children is so abundant that they are assured of all the things they will ever need.
The experience of the believer is that God does all things for him. David says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases.” (Psalm 103:2-3) There are no limitations on God’s saving grace and healing power.
And with God on his side, the power of the believer has no constraints too. St Paul claims, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
There is nothing in this world that is out of God’s reach. St Paul says, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)
We serve a God whose authority is limitless. Jesus had declared before his ascension to heaven, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” (Matthew 28:18) A day will come when all people will have to stand before the judgement seat of Christ and no one will be exempted from appearance. (2 Corinthians 5:10) For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:23-24)
God’s law has no disclaimer, and his love towards all humanity has no exception.
